Long Term Regional Presence:
The Four Corners Cafe has been in existence since the 1950's in Northeastern Minnesota. The establishment closed in the fall of 2011. We purchased the property from Wells Fargo Bank in April 2013. There may be some misconceptions as to the status of the business and property. We own the 8-acre property outright; it is not financed-it was a cash purchase. The Four Corners is a well-known business that has significant importance to the local area for several reasons. It was once known for great food, a place to buy convenience items and fuel and a gathering place for locals to socialize. It is located at the intersections of Hwy 135 and Hwy 21 which is ideal as a commercial location. Lakes Vermilion and Birch are within a short drive from the Four Corners and are premier fishing lakes in Northern Minnesota. The business has offered food for many years along with an attached Country Store. Fuel sales were available as well. The Cafe, store and fuel services are a unique combination; there is no similar business for many miles in any direction. Historically, folks would purchase basic grocery items and their fuel at the Four Corners rather than driving many miles away for these services. Just as important is that the Four Corners provided a gathering place for locals to meet and socialize on a regular basis. The area direly needs "a place to go" Our vision is to re-establish this much needed business to the area, offering the food, services and convenience that made it so popular in the past. We have invested a substantial amount of money in the purchase and remodel to this point. We want to get the business open as quickly as we can as we know there is great interest in bringing the place back to life. We still have a ways to go to meet that goal. We have owned and operated two prior restaurants in Alaska and believe the Four Corners has tremendous potential with the proper administrative over-site that an owner/operator must put forth to be successful. We also know that customer loyalty is critical to success. Local area customers are the backbone of this business.
